Main Description

This tool mentor assumes that a set of structured models have already been created in accordance with the XDE Model Structure Guidelines, in particular, models for implementation.

An implementation can be constructed by editing source code and reverse engineering a code model, or by modeling the code in Rational XDE (typically by evolving the previously created design model) and generating source code.

To create model elements, refer to the tool mentors for the design activities. Note that implementation model elements are often created by moving a Design Model element to the Implementation Model. The element may still be referenced from the Design Model - see Concept: Mapping from Design to Code.
