Main Description

The following are some recommendations and options for informally representing the Stakeholder Requests.

Recommendation: Use a Requirements Management Tool, Change Management Tool, Database or Spreadsheet

Even in a small project, tools that allow stakeholder requests to be sorted by priority or status are useful.

Tools built specifically for managing changes, such Rational RequisitePro and Rational ClearQuest are good options. If the number of requirements are small, a simple spreadsheet may be sufficient.

If stakeholders are comfortable with accessing requirements directly from the tool, or with accessing a report automatically generated from the tool, then no separate document is required.

Option: Include as Part of the Vision Document

If there are stakeholders that prefer a printed document, consider documenting stakeholder requests in a common document with the Vision. The master can still be in some kind of tool, as described previously, and the Vision could contain a report from the tool, or a table cut and paste from a spreadsheet.

See the Vision Template.
